A fluorescent film sensor for high‐performance detection of <i>Listeria monocytogenes</i> via vapor sampling

Foodborne Listeria monocytogenes poses serious threats to public health. Fast and sensitive detection of the pathogen at point contamination is thus crucial halt spread bacteria-related diseases. Herein, we report for first time a fluorescent film sensor detect biomarker L. monocytogenes, 3-hydroxy-2-butanone. The demonstrated unprecedented sensing performance analyte with limit lower than 0.05 mg/m3, response less 1 s, full reversibility, excellent selectivity. Further study showed that can be used monitor growth much-improved sensitivity. superior ascribed specific binding, efficient charge transfer emission, porous adlayer structure specially designed fluorophore-based film. Our work paves way develop portable detector meet needs on-site real-time foodborne pathogens.
